Meridian is looking for a Clinical Supervisor to oversee our Women's Residential Unit.

$1500 Bonus after 90 Days

Position Overview:

The Residential Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the clinical team in the residential addiction recovery environment; maintains standards of professional counseling practice in accordance with policies and procedures; facilitating work-flow and serving as a resource for staff and providing team leadership.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Duties):

1. Provide clinical and routine supervision to counseling staff including performance appraisals;

2. Ensure that counselors provide a “welcoming” experience and exceptional customer service;

3. Conduct case conference proceedings;

4. Attend all scheduled Program wide in-service training sessions; facilitate training for direct reports as appropriate;

5. Review and approve client activities, activity planning, and indirect therapy involvements;

6. Approve client passes and privileges as designated;

7. Provide clinical services as specified in Counselor job description, if warranted;

8. Schedule staff and utilization of group rooms;

9. Conduct weekly group supervision meetings;

10. Conduct monthly individual supervision meetings;

11. Prepare and conduct staff training activities;

12. Oversee monthly peer review systems;

13. Ensure that contract requirements are upheld by clinical staff and clinical programming;

14. Directly engage in milieu oversight, investigations and application of Therapeutic Community clinical and behavioral systems;

15. Participate in on-call supervisor responsibilities;

16. Attend and represent the company at community events;

17. Conduct file reviews, to ensure that all appropriate documentation meets contractual requirements;

18. Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Professional Counseling, with possessing an unencumbered clinical professional license or certification in substance abuse in the State of Michigan without any pending or ongoing investigations. Master’s Degree in appropriate academic discipline with associated professional license.
  • CADC or CAADC required within 6 months of hire.
  • CCS preferred or willing to participate in development plan to obtain relevant credential.
  • Experience: Three to five (3 – 5) years’ experience in a therapeutic setting with emphasis on residential treatment.

Growth Works is hiring for qualified Peer Recovery Coaches on a On-call basis in the metro Detroit area. The Coaches will provide peer recovery services and support to individuals to include providing support and resources to individuals admitted to a local hospital emergency room or police station/public safety location following drug or alcohol overdose. This will be on an on-call basis, with variability to the number of hours per week and per month. 

Coaches will:

  • Provide direct services to individuals including meeting to introduce recovery concepts, offer encouragement, share personal experiences, strengths and provide information about what to expect from treatment and activities that promote recovery.
  • Share community and treatment recovery resources, to include twelve-step programs, Detox Services, Residential Treatment, IOP-D, etc.
  • Documents direct services as well as collateral contacts within Growth Works data base; facilitates links to resources and removing barriers.
  • Facilitates Peer Recovery based groups, participates in ongoing training, education and other items as required.

Qualifications:

  • Personal recovery from substance use disorder for at least 24 continuous months
  • Possession of a GED or HS diploma
  • Highly desire current holders of CPRC certification through MDHHS; OR Must be willing to successfully complete achievement of CPRC certification as a condition of employment
  • Highly desired previous work or community experience as a Peer Coach, Recovery Coach, or sponsor in recovery and 12-step programs

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a professional level position in the field of public health education and promotion with responsibility for organization, development, and implementation of public health education programs and strategies related to substance use disorder and other prevention program areas. While this position will primarily focus on substance use disorder, flexibility in job responsibilities and programs will be required to meet changing County priorities. Further program responsibilities include health awareness, group behavior change, and risk reduction services directed toward diverse individuals and groups. Duties include work in the Health Education and Promotion Section in the Community Wellness Division. This is a non-supervisory position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Public Health Education, Community Health Education, Health Science, or other related area.  Required experience in health education and promotion, which would indicate an ability to perform in this classification. A thorough working knowledge of principles, practices and implementation strategies of health education programs is required. Ability to assess community needs, set goals and objectives, and effectively implement programs with positive community engagement and involvement. Must possess a valid, unrestricted Michigan driver's license and have access to transportation in the performance of job duties. Skills in health communications and outreach is preferred.
 
C.H.E.S or C.P.S. certification strongly desired at time of hire, otherwise chosen candidate must be willing to obtain and maintain certification at employee's expense.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Substance Abuse Counselor

DEPARTMENT: Clinical

MINIMUM QULIFICATIONS:

 

Master's Degree in Social Work or Psychology or

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of three years experience in the field of substance abuse or

Successful completion of Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) or have a current Counselor Development Plan (DP-C).

 

Counselors in recovery must have a minimum of one year sobriety.

 

DESIRED TRAINING:  HIV/AIDS Risk Assessment Counselor Training.

 

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Clinical or Counselor Supervisor

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but are not limited to the following:

 

  1. Conduct patient orientation and document the results on each patient assigned to caseload.
  2. Assess the patient's history with the patient and family as appropriate, develop a master treatment plan and ASAM Continuum.
  3. Review the patient's progress toward achieving treatment plan goals and objectives at least once every 60 days.
  4. Complete an annual assessment and master treatment plan on all assigned patients.
  5. Provide individual counseling a minimum of one hour, two times monthly to assigned patients and document the results of the session.
  6. Prepare and maintain patient records for each patient serviced and ensure documentation is available and meets licensing, accreditation and third party standards.
  7. Present cases for supervision and staffing, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  8. Submit reauthorization in a timely manner as directed by the Clinical Supervisor.
  9. File documentation in charts within 72 hours of receipt.
  10. Refer patients to appropriate providers for additional services.
  11. Provide ongoing feedback to appropriate referral sources, i.e. employee assistance counselors, probation officers, physicians, etc.
  12. Develop appropriate discharge plan with physician, patient, family and others, as appropriate and ensure that the patient is aware of, understands and receives a copy of the plan.
  13. Ensuring the patient receives OHH care management from staff members, whether it’s the counselor him/herself or another credentialed staff member.
  14. Attend on-site staff development seminars as well as off-site workshops and training activities as assigned.
  15. Facilitate case management activities with medical, psychiatric, psychological and other providers as deemed appropriate.
  16. Accept client assignments from Administration.
  17. Must maintain a caseload of 65 patients.
  18. Stays current with required training.
  19. Report to work as scheduled, in proper attire.
  20. Demonstrate and maintain a positive attitude toward patients, co-workers and supervisors.
  21. Maintain compliance with patient information in the clinical computer system.
  22. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  23. Participate in all scheduled staff meetings.
  24. Participate in team conference meetings and provide consultation to other staff when requested.
  25. Provide therapeutic services to clients, when assigned counselor is not available.
  26. Serve on Clinic Committees as requested by the Clinical Supervisor or Program Director.
  27. Maintain communication with all departments within this clinic.
  28. Ensure that information and documentation in personnel file is current and accurate.
  29. Perform related duties as assigned.
  30. Inform a Clinical Supervisor, Program Director or Executive Director of any non-compliance within assigned caseload.
  31. Adhere to all policies of the organization especially those that relate to Recipient Rights, Code of Ethics, Confidentiality, Safety, HIPAA and Personnel.
  32. Maintain good organizational skills.
  33. Maintain professional attire, hygiene, appearance and attitude.
  34. Other duties as deemed appropriate by administration.

 Responsibilities & duties

Ensures that clients in SUD programming are receiving the necessary clinical care to progress in completion of their treatment goals.

Functions as a key component of the treatment team, under the supervision of the Program Director.

Facilitates and provides direct clinical care in group, family and individual settings while fostering a safe and inclusive treatment environment. Utilizes various therapeutic approaches, emotions regulation techniques and trauma-informed practices in keeping with Growth Works philosophy and as determined by client need.

Completion of proper documentation of the case file including, but not limited to, accurate preparation of treatment plans, discharge summaries, progress notes and biopsychosocial reports.

Attendance and participation in staff meetings, staff in-services and meetings with community partners, as assigned

Master the Clinical Competencies to the satisfaction of the Program Director

Addresses personal recovery matters in a manner consistent with the agency’s approach to recovery.

 

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or another relevant field of study.

Current holder of State of Michigan license as a Social Worker (LLMSW/LMSW) Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC/LPC). Recent graduates will need to apply for license within 30 days of hire.

Current holder of Certified Advanced Addictions Counselor (CAADC) or registered development plan with MCBAP to complete certification- if not a holder, will need to register within 60 days of hire.

Previous experience with the SUD treatment and recovery preferred. Willingness to learn is required with no prior experience.

Knowledge of co-occurring disorders, trauma and brain development preferred.

Successful ability to complete agency background screenings and tests

Provides therapeutic services to individuals, couples, families, and groups and represents the Agency in the field.  Works under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor or Clinical Director.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains client records in accordance with standard timelines and contractual requirements.
  • Participates in mental health and substance abuse staff development activities.
  • Informs the Director of Counseling or designee of any unsafe work conditions.
  • Notifies the Director of Counseling or designee of any clients and/or families who are experiencing child abuse, neglect, and suicidal or homicidal symptoms.  Files protective service, recipient rights, or due process reports to the appropriate agency in a timely manner.
