Jill Montgomery joined the MCBAP Board of Directors in 2022, bringing with her a wealth of experience in public health and prevention. She is the owner of CoAction360, a consulting firm based in Muskegon, Michigan. Jill’s career is marked by her dedication to improving community health, particularly in the area of substance use prevention.
Jill’s educational background includes a Master’s degree in Public and Non-Profit Administration from Grand Valley State University, where she specialized in Urban and Regional Affairs and Health Administration. Her professional journey has been diverse, with leadership roles that include serving as the Center Director for American Plasma Management, League Manager for Star World Amusement, and most recently, as the Quality Improvement Coordinator and Health Education Supervisor at Public Health – Muskegon County. After retiring from the County in 2023, Jill embarked on a new chapter in her career as a consultant.
Throughout her career, Jill has received numerous accolades. In 2024, she was awarded the Hometown Hero Award by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) for her leadership in efforts to decrease drug overdose fatalities. The previous year, she was named Preventionist of the Year by the Michigan Prevention Association. Her contributions to public health and safety have also been recognized by the Michigan Child Death Review Team, the Greater Muskegon Jaycees, and American Plasma Management.
As Co-Chair of the MCBAP Prevention Committee and a member of the IC&RC Prevention Committee, Jill is deeply involved in shaping the future of prevention efforts. She also contributes as an IC&RC exam subject matter expert, ensuring that the standards for certification remain rigorous and relevant.
Jill is passionate about assuring the credibility and sustainability of the prevention workforce, believing that certification is crucial in validating expertise, upholding ethical standards, and promoting ongoing education. Outside of her professional life, Jill enjoys line dancing, gardening, and any activities related to water. Her commitment to both her work and her community makes her an invaluable asset to the MCBAP Board.
