Overview:
Individuals who experience disordered eating are significantly more likely to develop a substance use disorder (SUD). Similarly, there is a strong correlation between SUD and eating disorders (ED). Helping those who are afflicted can be challenging and requires and a comprehensive approach to care, including access to peer-based recovery support.
After completing this training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the correlation between substance use and disordered eating behaviors
- Learn about the lived experience of a person in long-term recovery from both SUD & ED.
- Understand the importance of utilizing peer support for treating SUD & ED.
- Learn about the community resources available for people in recovery from SUD & ED, including mutual aid support groups.
